Statement of Beliefs
The Church holds an historic Protestant Evangelical position in matters of doctrine and practice, and it exists to glorify God by teaching and proclaiming the following core truths.
(A full statement of faith is available on request.)
A. The divine inspiration of the Scriptures, as originally given, their inerrancy and sole authority in all matters of faith and practice.
B. The unity, co-equality and co-eternity of the Godhead: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
C. The creation of all things from nothing by the Sovereign Triune God by the word of His power, and the subsequent upholding of everything through Christ.
D. The essential, absolute and eternal deity of the Lord Jesus Christ who is the incarnate Son of God; was truly man; born of a virgin; lived a perfect life; died a substitutionary, atoning death on the cross; rose bodily from the dead; and ascended into heaven where He now sits in glory with His Father as the only mediator between God and man. In His ascended glory He reigns over all things for the church, and there He intercedes continuously for His people.
E. The real person of the Holy Spirit, through whose work of regeneration the soul is brought to repentance towards God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and by whose indwelling presence all saints are sanctified and empowered for service.
F. The universal sinfulness of mankind as a result of the Fall and his salvation solely by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose righteousness is imputed to him as the only ground of acceptance before God.
G. The sacrificial death of Christ on the cross as the perfect propitiation and satisfaction of justice for sin.
H. The priesthood of all believers, who form the one universal church, the Body of Christ, of which Christ is the head, and in whom there is perfect unity of all who believe. The local representation of that universal Church in the local congregation which is constituted to preach and teach the Gospel of God, and is made up of those who are born again by the Spirit of God and who are committed to serve one another in love and truth.
I. The return of the Lord Jesus Christ in glory and power, and the resurrection of the body. The judgement of the world by the Lord Jesus Christ, the everlasting blessedness of the redeemed and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost.
