You are warmly welcomed to come along to our Sunday services – whoever you are and however unfamiliar you may be with church, the Bible, or the Christian faith.
We meet together twice every Sunday, at 10:45am and 6:15pm, in East Leake Village Hall.
Our great aim as we gather is to worship the living God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We also want to learn from God’s Word, the Bible, and to encourage one another in our Christian lives.
We seek to worship God with reverance, because he is pure and mighty; and also with thanksgiving and joy, because he is loving and gracious to us.
No offering plate will be passed round, and you will not be asked to speak or do anything in the service – except to listen and join in the singing if you wish.
The Bible is relevant to everyone because it is God’s message to the people he created. It shows us that we can know God our heavenly Father through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. In one way or another all our services focus on this rich and wonderful message.
On the first Sunday of the month, immediately after the morning service, we celebrate Communion (also known as the Lord’s Supper). This is a special time of worship and fellowship that was instituted by the Lord Jesus himself. We eat bread and drink wine together as he commanded. These elements signify Jesus’ body broken for us, and his blood shed for us. He said, ‘Do this in remembrance of me’ (Luke 22:19). (We also celebrate Communion on the 3rd Thursday of each month during our mid-week evening meeting. Listen to the messages preached on these occasions.)
The Communion service is for committed Christians – those who are trusting in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation, and seeking to live in obedience to him. If you are not a Christian then you are welcome to stay and listen and observe.
